NONE FLOWERING AUBERGINE
By Valparsons

I Have two auberegines in my greenhouse. They have grown well and have flowered beautifully but are not fruiting, the flower simply withers off the stalks. The greenhouse is well ventilated during the day and well watered, the tomatoes in there are wonderful and cropping heavily. I grew aubergines last year and was very pleased with the results. The greenhouse never gets too hot.

Perhaps your greenhouse is not hot enough, because aubergines, unlike tomatoes, like it very hot and humid. Also, although they are self fertile, the flowers do need pollinating. Try tapping and shaking the flowers if there aren't lots of pollinating insects in the greenhouse. I read somewhere that one gardener used a sonic electric toothbrush to vibrate the flower. I'm sure if the weather has turned warm again the flowers will begin to 'set'.
