Should I prune this azalea
By Junie

Hi, someone has gone to the trouble of digging up an azalea for me, even though my soil is alkaline! So today I have planted it in a large pot with ericaceous soil, and put it in the shade, do you think I should cut it back in anyway to give it a chance. many thanks

Oh lord... this is so not the time of year to dig any shrub up. As you have already potted it up keep watering and in a wind free shady position. What are you future plans for the shrub?

well, I will need to keep it in the pot as my soil is so anti-azalea! I will just try to look after it to please the person who gave it to me (my mum!).
