how do I stop birds eating my strawberries

half a dozen canes stuck in the ground round about the bed the strawberries are in , then a small plant pot upside down on each cane , then throw a net over the canes . hold it in place with anything , plant pot , ornament etc etc . You can get nets in some of the pound shops.

Yes, nets are the answer as Maccrimmon says. Just make sure there are no loose bits, as birds sometimes get tangled up.

If you've only just planted your strawberries it is unlikely you will get fruit this year.
