thanks for replying - no I did mean Allium sphaerocephalon - it is one of the smaller alliums and is shaped a bit like a chicken drumstick. I have it in purple but would like to find out if it is available in white.

There is a white drumstick Allium though not sphaerocephalum. It is almost the same, a drumstick about 2 feet tall but white. Now comes the hard part I have no name for it except A. canadense seems to ring a bell, but it may not be.

Allium sphaerocephalon is a reddish/purple drumstick type but I don't think that there is a white form.

I would post a picture of this one if only I could get a decent connection. It is in flower now.

I take it you mean the Allium hollandicum (syn afflatuense), about 28 inches high with purple, round heads? There are white alliums, but their flower form is not in this drumstick shape, and as far as I know, a cultivar of hollandicum that is white is not available - I've certainly not seen one anywhere, and it's not on the internet.
