Lots of buds that don't flower

I have a Passiflora caerulea 'White Lightning' plant in my garden. It is in the sun all day, in a huge pot and is growing well and looks very healthy. One bud seems to flower every couple of weeks but that's it. the plant has loads of buds on it but none of them flower. Why is this?

I have the ordinary Passiflora in my garden and once it gets going it has quite a few flowers out at the same time but only one on each stem, how many stems have you got? Try feeding it with tomato food and give it lots of water even when it rains.
