Red Baron peach tree

Hello, I live in Queen Creek , Az. I planted a 15 gallon Red Baron peach tree about two months ago, when I planted it, it just had little pink blossoms on it, they fell off and leaves bloomed. My problem is that the leaves are tiny and few and far between, it looks like a charlie brown tree. My question is, am I doing something wrong, is there something that I can do to get a better result, or is this normal for a young tree? We have a farm down the road that is currently having their peach festival, so I know peaches can do well here. Thank you for your time, I hope that you can help. Kim

I have no idea what is wrong other than it might be in shock. I suggest you nurture as much as possible. Young trees need plenty of deep watering in the first 2 years of life. We live in a dry area and the custom here is to put a plastic tube in next to the tree down to the roots so that you can water to root level. The other thing is to mulch with compost in Spring and Autumn. Hope it recovers.
