What variety of potato is best for a container

I want to try growing potatoes in a container but not sure how to go about it or what the best variety would be

Well unless you are growing new potatoes for Christmas it will be next year now before you can grow... what sort of container are you thinking of?

Maris Piper do very well in containers, although the foliage does tend to get a bit out of hand. Lovely spuds though!

If you like a floury tattie! Which we don't! That is the challenge... floury/waxy - which do you prefer, mashed tatties (floury) or boiled topped with butter (waxy)
