Im not sure whether this is a ycca or a phormium. Anyway it has very sharp pointy firm leaves and normally throws up a spike in about June as per the avatar. However it has thrown up a spike now, mid September

I'd say that was a Yukka.
My next door neighbour has one and hers has flowers now too !
