So ive got all the bulbs planted but should i cover with anything during the winter months to protect from frost or will they be ok? I have some perspex sheets in the garage and black plastic. Thank you :-) This is a wee pic below of the bulb plot

Just for the record, what bulbs are they? I think you're supposed to plant them 2 or 3 times as deep as the size of the bulb so perhaps you should push the bigger ones down a bit. before you cover up with soil. You've done a brilliant and artistic job there, it will look wonderful in Spring

Thank you :-))Theres about 13 different types Heron. Your right the bigger ones especially . Just before i put the soil over them i did push them down. Ive another 2 wooden box frames made also so trying to figure out what to put in them. I do have some Lavender on the way but trying to work out what else now to go with it all.

What kind.Thats great bet she cant wait for them to flower. I have to admit i have ordered a few more myself. i am going to get my wrists slapped when they arrive. But i couldnt resist. :-))
It was a special offer that i had saw in the paper. All i keep saying to my partner is wait until spring and you will appreciate my madness then.

Blah make sure to cover the top of your bed of bulbs with grit helps to stop liverwort and the like growing. Make sure your pots/tubs/planters are raised up from the ground so that there is good drainage.

Thank you Moon Grower :-) When i was doing the pots i put a mix of sand and stones in first. Have to get them raised tomorrow then. :-)

The stones/sand will help but if they are sitting directly on the ground then it is difficult for the water to drain out. We automatically put 'feet' under any container. Can be fancy terra-cotta feet, stones, bricks, bits of timber doesn't matter just get them up off the ground :-)

Bulbs are nice but good old fashioned Walllflowers smell nice too. They would mix well with bulbs.

I assume you're going to put a layer of soil over them, Blah, so you can't see them? You don't need to put anything over them, they'll be fine - unless you've got something tender and hothouse in there.
