With the Agapanthus seeds sow in deep pots and do not prick out until they are larger plants. Feed fortnightly when in growth, with half strength liquid feed.
I know Joe Pye weed as Eupatorium of various species and forms, though I have a feeling that some of them have been moved elsewhere recently. Never tried them from seed, but would imagine that the Dandelion like seed is best sown in Spring in ordinary compost im gentle heat.

I've grown Agapanthus from a couple of seeds collected from my plants. No flowers as yet, but a good strong plant has resulted! Good luck with it - it seems worth doing.

Sow the agapanthus seeds now in a warm propagator. They should be sown fresh.

Thanks to all for your responses on the agapanthus! I was planning on waiting till next spring to sow outdoors...but I might have to get them started in a pot indoors now. I saw one plant here for $40 US dollars and I thought that was too expensive for just one plant - so I decided to get the seeds instead through a mail order catalog...now I'll have to pay the price and wait for them to grow and flower if at all :(

That does seem incredibly expensive ,Ktm18, was it some special variety? They're priced pretty much the same as other, comparable plants over here.

Yes, that does sound a lot....I'd shop around if I were you. Try buying on-line maybe?

I don't recall reading on the tag if it was some special variety....I just remember being happy to find it and then disappointed because of the price....because I decided to not buy it! ;) I will continue to keep my eyes on the internet if I find it online! Thanks for your comments! :)

« Hi I'm putting forward a contemporary show garden for the Chaumont in France,...
For the Agapanthus, sow the seeds under glass in spring - it will be at least 3 years before they flower, and seeds from hybrids do not come true, so you won't know what you're getting if they've been an amateur collection from random plants. As for Joe Pye weeds, language barrier intervenes here - I've no idea what that is!
