Hope this isn't a silly question.
I'm advised to cover my raised bed(s) with black polythene to warm the soil beneath.
I have a large light blue tarpaulin - will this have a similar effect .?

I have had blue tarpaulin over my beds on my allotment and it will help to keep the soil warm but not as much as black might have. And it also will help to keep the weeds down.

it will have some effect as it will keep the wind off etc but black absorbs heat better than any colour which is why it is used.
