hi,this is a current photo of my cordyline australis do you think its had it due to the winter we are having or do you think it will recover its roughly 15 years old and container grown should I take all existing leaves off and cover exposed crown or just leave it alone till the spring and then prune all dead leaves at the first sign of growth.

Aw...that does look sorry........I would leave it till Spring as we are still in mid winter and these leaves will protect the new growth. Then remove the leaves and see if there is any sign of new life. I have 3 planted in my garden and this I think has saved them from the extremely low temps.

someone will know better than me but If the container froze hard then the roots could freeze and die if there was not any protection, usual advice is wait and see..... sorry to be so gloomy
