Quite a few here too, they always arrive at this time of year for the blossom on our damson trees.

I have visions of you hefting a mighty 21 year old son under your arm Kildermorie - or is he just a youngster?

My son is 3 and my daughter 18 months. The large bee landed on the patio and she went over to look (no fears that girl!) but my son was worried that it would sting. It must have been sun bathing as it sat there in the sun for some time and had t carry my son past it to get back in the house. I think he will still be like that at 21! sensitive soul.

It's buzzing here as well Kath. First bees, first lady bird and first frost free week..... It's all go!!!!!

The huge bumble bees are the queens, out foraging as soon as the temp reaches 4 degrees C. Probably buff-tailed bumble bee.
(Apparently a study once showed that they were wrongly engineered to be able to fly. No one told the bee!)

They have arrived in Buckinghamshire too, daughter's Jack Russell was getting rather too interested in one on the lawn yesterday. I was surprised that it didn't fly away, perhaps it believed it was wrongly engineered!!!

I meant to add that I posted a picture of the first one a couple of days ago Kath.
