Half seriously, if you know someone with a large hardy dog that wouldn't mind being put on a chain overnight for a week (give the poor mutt an old-style kennel) you'd find the badgers kept away. There's always a chance they'd give up and go somewhere else, and dig up your neighbour's lawn instead.
They are after the worms in your lawn, which means you must have a good healthy soil, if that's any compensation.
Otherwise, there are ultrasonic devices on the market, but I can't vouch for them personally.

Just a thought for someone who is going tyo sow a lwan in an area know the have badgers; would it be possible tyo lay sheets or heavy guage expanded metal or weld mesh over the area and then cover it with half an inch of soil?
If the garden was not frozen over at the moment I would be outside working rather than putting up wierd ideas on GoY!!!!

Thanks for the replies. I've also loooked at some of the related links / questions.
I knew they were around and when I first saw them (three youngsters) last Summer I was thrilled. After destroyed pots, and a winter of rooting in my lawn I'm not so pleased.
Thanaks to everyone again.

Kynance - It was my garden they were destroying., and the only way we're keeping them out is the electric fence. You need to look round and find out where they're getting in, because they have a 'route' that they follow from their sett. Our electric fence is across the tunnel under the hefty fence.
The Jeyes' fluid did work, but I ran out of the old version - and the new one hasn't got the same smell, so it's useless.

welcome to GoY Kynance.
One of our other members has the same problem and she has had to resort to an electric fence. I think she has used jeyes fluid soaked rags at the entry points with some success. But it is a problem.
