Every summer we get a mouse or 2 in the garden, so was pleased to see that they had come back again……. here is one of them on the patio…..
My son took these of the Robin and goldfinch, when we were out walking…

Lovely pictures. That mouse is so cute. My Nan and Grandad had some living underneath their compost bin.

Feeding the mice? How gentle of you Hollyeves. You make me feel horrible when I tried to poison them. Are they not that dangerous after all? People talk about mice spreading diseases. Could it only be the rats?

Oh, they are lovely, brilliant photos Holly.

You wouldn't want them in your house Coshad, they could cause lots of damage and their faeces and urine do spread disease, but they don't do much harm outside, unless there are lots of them and they are eating all your corn or animal feed etc. We have them during the winter. The mice and I hasten to say rats come for the bird food, along with the squirrels. They really upset our neighbour who hates them and has threatened to report me to the council...Some people.

Really great photos Holly. Are the mice quite tame. I've only seen them very fleetingly in my garden or dead when the cat brings them in :o( I'm quite happy for them to be in my garden too.

Lovely photo`s Holly, I know we have mice at the bottom of our garden under the shed, trouble is I only get to actually see them after the cat has finished, not a good sight....

Great photos Holly ... love the Robin ... Megan usually finds the Mice before I do ... I think the shed in the garden behind ours is where they live ... judging by the time Megan sits staring at it! . . . . .

How far away from the mouse were you to get that photo?

Thank you all for your welcome comments.....we were about 6ft away when the photos were taken.. he was on my patio.....hes not very tame and scoots away quickly if he sees us moving....
Coshad.... i like having a few mice in the garden... they dont get indoors or cause any harm...... not like the rats who spread diseases...... hope those of you with mice manage to get some pics.... you need a lot of patience....lol.....

Hollyeves thank you for your reassurance. I see them very often in the back of my garden. They probably come from a neglected neighbouring garden. They must of course eat something to survive. I worried about them coming into
contact with the veg I grow there. I will attempt to take a photo of them when I see them again.

Terrific pics Holly....We have several Mouse nests underground in our garden...Last year H was digging up a shrub to move it to a new place, and unearthed a nest with little newborn babies in...Cover it quick says I, their mother may still come to them...Every now and again I see the burrowing holes in the borders, and I try to disturb them as little as possible...and cover the hole, so my Cats don't get inquisitive...We get even more now since part of the field behind us has been cleared for a new build... It isn't a good idea to feed them, I know they're cute, but they'll bring all their mates...and you'll be over run...

Thanks everyone... nice to know alot of you have the little visitor as well.....

Your little visitor is so cute...we have one that visits near to our broken down fence that is covered with ivy. We've caught our cat a couple of times 'worrying' the poor wee thing....she doesn't kill it but bats it about and the poor thing tries to scuttle to safety under our rocks or back in the ivy. They are fascinating creatures to watch and your pictures really are delightful, Holly.
Your son took good photos of the birds too...nice and close up :)
