Hi, I brought some seeds on ebay labeled phalaenopsis brother Sara gold, however when they arrived they didnt appear to be orchid seeds. I planted them and now have tall seedling with leaves similar to carrot or fennel. Can u advise what they could possibly be?
Many thanks, Stephanie.

Bulba actually mean Phacelia but it most certainly isn't that!
I've never attempted to grow Phalaenopsis from seed and just hope another GoYer can help you.
Have to say I wouldn't buy seeds on eBay.

Phalaenopsis seed is like dust and would probably need to be grown in laboratory conditions in agar jelly and with their symbiotic fungus or michorizza.
They could be Coreopsis (such as cilliata)

I wondered if they were cosmos?
certainly not the orchid seeds you bought. contact the seller and complain especially if you paid more than a pound which is what you can buy normal seed for.

Must admit that cosmos crossed my mind too

Most orchids that are grown from seed, including Phals, are grown in a flask, i.e. a sealed, sterile, jar, in laboratory conditions of light and heat in this country. I have done it myself but will not be trying again at my age. It takes years to get them to potting size. Those are not orchid seeds. Nothing like.

Previous question
Brother Sara Gold is definitely the name of a Phalaenopsis and this is not that! I wondered about Phalacia but we have a packet of seed in the kitchen and it is not the same as yours.
