My Newzealand flaxes have sufferd severe snow & frost damage.
Can anyone suggest any options?
can I cut them completely down so that they will re grow?

If they're actually new zealand flax (Phormium) and not Cordylines (australian cabbage palm) they should recover. Wait till April and cut or pull off any dead, damaged or broken leaves.
