What a stunning sight for you TT..do you know, I cannot recall the last time we had a hoar frost here...not even last winter. All the cold seems to land on the ground and leave the trees undecorated. We only seem to get an effect similar to this when it snows. Pity, because it is so beautiful to see.

Lovely picture Terra, we haven't had any frost here yet. I also do the birdwatch , but its through the Garden News magazine.We get nearly every bird you can think of here including our first thrush.

I'm sure they must grow here, but I don't ever remember seeing a silver birch in Italy. Or a beech tree. We get lots of poplars, sweet chestnut and walnut trees up here. The huge willow on our neighbours' land at the top of our drive was so weighed down with snow today that great branches have snapped off.

It's a pity when snow snaps branches. Thanks for the reminder. If we get the expected snow this weekend, I'll be ready to knock it off any shrubs which look too weighed down.

TT we didn't have that here and you are not a million miles away! Very pretty though:o))
