problem with pears.

had agood year with cropping with my conferance pears no maggots but the lowerfruit have like rust spots any ideas please charlie.

If you are in Britain then this is most likely Peqar scab. You can either spray with a systemic fungicide, check that it is one for food crops. Or spray with Copper sulphate every 10 days or so from when the fruit first forms to picking. Collect up any fallen fruit and affected leaves and burn or bin, not compost.
