Photinia problems ...
Hi,
I have a total of six photinia trees in my front garden, all planted in a line along a fence. They were planted there two years ago, and up until recently have been doing fine. However, over the last few months one of them has taken a real turn for the worse, as can been seen in the photo.
Obviously it shares the exact same bed as the others, so it is unlikely to be environmental. Its leaves (what is left of them) do not look victim of anything fungal (they have simply been dropping off over time, with no fresh shoots to replace them). I can see no other signs of damage or specific disease.
To treat it I have pruned and added fertiliser, but with no effect. I am at a loss as to the cause and the remedy.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance

Hi, does the sun shine onto these, if so I would suspect that the people living behind the 1 that has the problem have done something, eg weed killer, to prevent the tree blocking the sun from them, as it appears they're quite a bit lower than your property, and would eventually block out the light, Derek.

Have you looked at soil level and below for any damage, pests or root rot?
