WARNING.........Today I found three red lily beetles on my lilies. I thought they were very early but my lilies are around 9 inches high in pots on my patio. All you guys who grow these wonderful plants check them over.....be vigiliant.

As I understand it, Red Lily beetles got to the far north of Scotland, though in lower numbers and more isolated places then SE England. 2010 killed off most of the population from northern England up, but most populations are doing well with the non-winter of this year. Although I hope that you do not get them Moon Growe, it may be that you may one day, sadly.

So far as I am aware there have never been lily beetles up in Moray or further north Botanic. Southern Scotland yes...

May I send you a few M.G. ......they are really beautiful insects with their shiny red coats.....you will love them I am sure!

I too have already found some on my lilies and they are only about 4-6 inches high :-

Killed 10 yesterday and another 5 today, pretty red but vile when they eat my lovely lillies.
