Does anyone recognize this poppy? It has a large non-hairy leaf and a small yellow flower. It self- seeded itself in my garden.

On plant Papaver

Yes, it's Mecanopsis cambrica the so called Welsh Poppy though it is native to parts of south west England too. It is now naturalised all over the British Isles.

Its a Welsh poppy, linda.there is an Orange version as well. They do self seed, but the main plant dies off after flowering, later in the year.If you don't want it to self seed, take the seed heads off, after flowering, and dispose of them..not in a compost bin,or you will have them forever more.I love them,so don't mind,as you can pull the new ones up when they start growing next year,or be selective, and leave some where you would like them to grow.
