Can any one please identify this - it is growing on the grass verge by us, obviously been dumped from someone's garden, but it is absolutely stunning, and I would love to know what it is. It is such a vivid colour, about 2'.6" high. Wondered if it was a type of small gladioli

Dead easy from seed, so wait until that one has ripe pods on it and away you go. Takes about 2 years to flower from sowing.

Thanks Owdboggy - I will keep my eye on it and collect seeds when it has ripe pods. Keep a look out photos of it growing in my garden in a few years!
