Has anyone got an idiot proof design for a log store???

If you are putting it against a wall or walls of the house for goodness sake leave an air gap between the logs and the walls. I didn't realise the need for this and nor did the person who stacked my wood right up against the house; it's an old house and because there was no airflow around the logs, I now have damp in one room and the whole load of wood has had to be moved whilst things dry out and then it will be restacked differently. Bah!

Thanks for the signpost. I'm too mean to buy anything but I did manage to find a DIY version using pallets so I'll give it a try. Sorry to hear about your damp Cestina. Boy do I know how that feels!

If you have a large amount of logs build a structure that looks like a 3 sided shed leaving the door end off. You dont want to bend if you have lots of logs to stack? Have just entered 'log store' in the search box (top right) lots of pics and ideas in GOY
