I'm guessing that you are noticing the difference between male flowers and female flowers? The male have a stalk the goes straight into the back of the flower. The female flowers (that develop into fruit) have the stalk which expands just behind the flower to form a potential fruit if fertilised by a male flower. Better if the male flower (pollen) comes from another plant rather than the same one.
