Thank you Fractal. It is in full sun but has been moved from one border to another. I have had it about 5 years but never seen the grren leaves on it before

When did you move it? These may be secondary growth leaves that are produced sometimes after a shock and can be green instead of purple/bronze etc from the off.

I only moved it about 6 weeks ago after I had the garden done. I also wondered if the soil could be contaminated with building dust sand etc

As long as you moved it with a large rootball it should be ok. Building dust shouldn't be a problem either unless it had a lot of lime in it. Building sand though not good for plants wouldn't turn the leaves green to my knowledge. Just give a really good soak once a week to keep the plant happy.

Thanks for your help. I am a very amateur gardener. Just teaching myself as I am going along but thoroughly enjoying it.

That is half the fun, the successes far outweigh any failures :-)

Some varieties unless in full sun such as my Chetsuseyama will turn from copper to green if not in full sun.
