The silver leaf there looks like Cineraria Neellan...and the lilac flowers resemble a Verbena....yep a close-up would be better.....

Thanks for your response the area was planted with seeds from a box of wild flower mixture the others i know but i don't recognise this one I'll try get another pic Jonathan
Janey it is not either cineraria or verbena it is about 1' tall

The shape of the flower stalk on the left suggests a type of Comfrey Neellan...not sure which type though......

Thanks Janey I'll keep checking,
the stalk is hairy and the flower is made up of lots of flowerets going paler to the centre the leaves are a bit like cineraria but green not silvery

This looks like Phacelia tanacetifolia (scorpion weed) which is often sold as a green manure but its so pretty its worth growing in any garden.

Are you sure that is a wildflower? Just because it is in the wild does not mean it is one. It may be a garden escapee. A closer up pic if you can would help.
