one of my perenials has been bashed over with high winds, iv staked it up and the spires which were getting ready to flower have wilted over, no sign of brocken stems and roots still secure, shall i cut it back or do you think it will revive, not sure what it is iv lost the tag,it just looks a mess like it is

It looks more like lack of water to me - give it a good drench and see what happens.

I think I would give it a bucket of water San....see if that helps....the winds are so drying, and they may have rocked it's roots.

we just had 3 days of rain here and i did give it extra lastnight, ground is wet i tested it, all other plants are fine, this happened after heavy rain and wind cammomile.

Sanbaz, maybe the roots have been loosened even though the plant looks secure. Have you given it a good watering as that would help resettle them. I can't think what else you could do. If after a week I would cut the flower stems right back and hope some more will be encouraged to come up.

This wind is infuriating, thats all we need at this time of year - you should see the wreckage downstairs of the Crocosmia Lucifer, which was 4.5 feet high - you can imagine what they look like now...

My gorgeous crocosmia lucifer, I have loads, is on the floor and when I tied it up it looked awful.

Shame about your plant San (-:...looks a bit like Sidalcea?.....You've given it a good water......wait and see what happens.....

Bambo....yes.....how do you dry your smalls.......or larges even.......can just imagine them on a string across your bathroom......lol......

hope your lovely plant recovers for you. We have had high winds here today and I have been picking things up all round garden. Yes my washing did dry well ...before the rain came down and I had to do some more running fetching it in.lol all the best Sandra.

If its not water,they sometimes recover and look as good as ever as the weather settles,put up with mess just for now,liquid feed and see.
