I have taken over an orchid from my daughter to see if I can improve on it. It is 60cms tall looks very healthy with strong green glossy leaves, strong upright stems (8), but no flowers. What variety and what to Do?

What I know about orchids wouldn't even cover the head of a pin, but is this plant really an orchid? It looks similar to lucky bamboo or Dracaena to me, but then, as I said, I know nowt about orchids.

For once a question I know the answer to!
I bought one of these from the Morrison's reduced plants - I'm a sucker (no pun intended) for a sick plant. It was reduced from £10 to 99p! It had only finished flowering, nothing else wrong with it.
The label says Dendrobium Niobile and by the left over flower bits it looked as if it was white. It's grown immensely since I had it, so obviously doing something right.

I'd like to know as well. I took one over and it's only got one leaf left now!
