Oh wow! I absolutely love the sand verbena, the carpet of purple flowers. Absolutely stunning! How often does a super bloom occur?

A superbloom is dependent upon the weather pattern and has something to do with El NiƱo. It is a rare event and I just saw some video of superbloom occurring in Death Valley National Park. To think that such a hot and seemingly barren place is in reality a super fertile area of wildflowers patiently waiting years to do their thing. It's magical!

Wow, that's a real eye opener! Amazing. I thought it was only cacti & other succulents that did that.
