'Nuff said indeed! I have just dug up all the plants from one of the beds trying to get rid of the bindweed as well as Ground Elder, talk about being attacked on both sides! Neither of those are easy to get rid of, the roots run for miles and once they take hold you just have to try to keep on top of it. Poisoning is an option I suppose, but we tend not to us any here, too many birds of our own and wild ones which might ingest something animal or vegetable that has been tainted. On the bright side it's pretty if it's somewhere it can just ramble.

Don't cut the tops off when it reappears, put in a cane by each stem and let it twine up it. When its got lots of leaves and looking really healthy lay the cane flat, protect surrounding plants, and spray it with glyphosate before it gets banned... The roots co down at least six feet and digging it all out is impossible.

We have it all over the allotment so can't spray. As for canes, it loves the pea and bean canes so, again, can't kill it. How can something so pretty be so horribly invasive?
