Your snow looks awful. I find it depressing. We haven't got any here but everything is frozen solid. Very depressing.

We have snow enough to make venturing out difficult. As long as the birds survive we will be fine.

Hi, when I went to bed last night, there was 4" of snow on my driveway, and I had a hospital appointment early this afternoon. so I thought I would be shovelling snow this morning, fortunately the very strong wind was blowing in the right direction, and when I got up this morning it had blown most of it away, so no snow shifting,???, Derek.

I wish our snow looked like this. Its like the arctic tundra here...horizontal snow showers and a vicious gale. The snow is so dry it has all been blown off the fields. I dread to think where it's all piled up! probably a couple of miles down the road. Plenty in our garden though. OH has cleared the driveway three times today and theres a good inch or so again now.

We have given up on trying to clear the drive. We have at least a foot of snow on it and the bin men come tomorrow so we will miss out on having our bins emptied. My daughter in Somerset has just phoned to say she has water coming in and she is worried in case she cannot get an emergency plumber. There is a red alert weather warning in her area. I'm beginning to wonder if we will all survive this unexpected onslaught.

We only have an inch here but its beastly cold.

Currently, a major winter storm is moving in on me. The sky is lowering, darkening with an eerie stillness. This will be a big one. I'm not looking forward to this at all.

Stera I hope you do not get any more snow but it is not sounding too hopeful. Bathgate I am surprised that you do not get more snow.
An emergency plumber came out and found my daughter has a wasps nest under a tile next to a flat roof. The little nasties have made a hole big enough to allow the snow to be blown in. He was able to reassure her that the problem will clear up when the snow stops. She should be able to get a roofer in to fix the loosened tile. Although the area alert has been downgraded to Amber from red it looks like it could be Monday before there is any improvement in road conditions.

Spoke too soon- falling now as though it really means it...
