Germinating Rudbeckia....does anyone have any advice on this?
I have a go every year, follow instructions on the packet. I place them in a heated propagater, but rarely manage to germinate more than 3 or 4 from a packet.

Thanks, I’ll try that. Do you germinate in a heated propagater?

You don't need the propagator. Just sprinkle the seeds over damp compost and mist everyday with good lighting. They should sprout in a week or so.

i have the same problem with most of the seeds I plant, Sheila. i've decided I don't send enough love when I sow them! I shall buy plugs in future.

No Andrea, just in my greenhouse which is unheated but gets quite warm in the sunshine.

Oh dear, that’s bad luck. It might be the compost you are using ... I use Seed and Potting compost mixed with Vermiculite, and keep it slightly damp. Hope that works for you.
