I've just been given some "red-headed" ornamental grass seeds "something beginning with C, Will Scarlet" the lady said. Any ideas? and will it make sense to sow some now, and some in February?

Difficult to get much info but what I've gleaned is that its supposed to be frost hardy (seller's description) but an American site suggests its hardy in Zone 9, but not Zone 8 (which is us). Think I'd sow early next year or in spring - seems to need hot, dry situation to colour up red.
