Unfortunately, mainly lots of hard work! If the remaining roots are too deep, cut off the new shoots as they get 20 or so cm tall, and paint the fresh cut ends with SBK brush killer, or professional grade RoundUp, being careful not to get any on the soil. It may be a year or two before you kill them all.
