I have heard it is best to alternate crops from one year to the next. What is the best common vegetable to grow next year on a plot where I have grown potatoes this year ?. Is it so important to alternate? Thanks . GC

some veg takes out what another veg puts in this is the bases of crop rotation .every fourth year you can go back to the crop you had in the first place i believe .
