I received this miniature rose recently and I am not sure whether it would survive outside (in a pot) or whether it is intended for indoors only...there was no tag with it. I have noticed some buds are wilting a little bit. Advice please.

I don't think that roses like indoor temperatures, Wh.l, so I'd have it outdoors in a pot if I were you. Good luck with it.

Thanks for our advice. I will repot it in a larger pot and place it outdoors, in shelter as suggested. I've just cut off the two small ailing stems with one wilting bud...the rest of the plant looks fine and even has some new light green growth.
I hope it will survive too. I will harden it off as you suggest, Volunteer.

I bought a miniature rose quite a few years ago. After flowering I thought 'nothing to lose' so managed to divide it into three separate plants put it in the garden. They are still flowering now :)

That's good to know, Aster. I'll take a closer look and see if it can be divided and if so, I'll try the same....except it will be in containers for the time being as we are still have clearing/landscaping to accomplish first. Good tip....pleased for you to have had such a success.

It's strange but I find if I stick something in the ground and leave it it's fine. The more I fuss and pamper a plant the more it gives up the will to live lol :)

Maybe that will work for me too, Aster. Watch this space...lol

They usually survive outside in a sheltered spot. It will need a larger pot if you are going to keep it for any length of time. And good light to keep it in flowwer indoors. Don't forget to harden it off, as you would with any other plant that is going outside.
