Very large Buddleja?

They do. That is why they ought to be annually pruned right down.

Good for butterflies etc but needs hard pruning spring to keep it under control.

I planted a dwarf buddleia in a pot a few years ago but them moved it to the back of the border. This year it looks as if it's growing into a tree with large blooms. That will definitely get cut hard back in the autumn!

Next door’s buddleja is naever going to be pruned, nothing ever is.

My daughter insists it’s not a tree, it’s a shrub. But she lines in California.

They can grow to over 16 feet high.

Next door’s is well over 30 ft tall and still growing fast.

Sorry about that, my son reckons it’s 20 ft plus,
