Iwould like to grow a ceanothus in my garden is there one that will grow in part shade,evergreen,grows to 4-5ft and hardy.

It will depend on how heavy your shade is as the ceanothus are really sun lovers.
If it will get sun for about 3/4 of the day, it may be worth trying ceanothus 'Gloire de Versailles.' Unlike most in the family, this is very amenable to pruning and can be cut back to within a bud or two of the previous year's growth in spring when it starts to shoot. It flowers in early summer and again in autumn
