Can crushed mussel shells be used in garden soil? Also I have a lot coal and wood ash, can this be spread on the garden?

If you are picking the shells up straight from the beach, then make sure you wash the salty water off them first before putting them on the garden. If you live by a beach, you can use seaweed as well, it is an excellent plant food and soil improver, but make sure you wash it first
