Hard hat on....Trying to make a compost bin

I’m feeling quite pleased with myself. I’ve managed to cobble together some compost bins in order to tidy up my garden.
When the fence went up I had a quick panic. OH had measured incorrectly. He thought the fence would be a little further back. Not a big problem except a big heap of compost, that was ready for use in the garden was going to be on the other side of the fence. Horror of horrors!!! I’m no compost expert. It takes me a year usually to get anything usable, I’m not into turning it every two weeks – much too lazy!! Luckily the people who bought the plot helped me reposition the compost so it ended up on my side. But not happy with it there. Needed to think of a better way to store it more tidily. Now most people would buy some compost bins… not me… I would ‘nt say I’m mean, I would just much rather spend my money on plants. We had a few old scaffold planks and a few posts that had been stored up the garden for years so I decided to put them to good use…A safety lecture later on how to use the circular saw. This is what resulted:
Now its time to put it all together. What no Conker or Truffle? India and China are nowhere to be seen. The sound of that saw has frightened them half to death too.
This is where its going to. I just need to avoid a hernia getting it there.
So this is where the compost was originally – In the Narnia corner.!! ( Far left of photo)
In place and nearly finished – just need to put the front boards on now..
Time for a coffee and a rest!!

Well Lil,
with all your talents hopefully you won't have to resort to using power tools! I would not have been so tentative, its just my OH gave me the full H&S brief before I was allowed to pick the thing up!! Not so bad, once I got started though. Power drills are really fun.

Well done Poppy, we don`t need these men only their tools. I do turn my compost occasionally but actually its a job I like, you know like a pig in muck so to speak, LOL...

It's a bit high Libet. I took a bit too much notice of OH ...lol
I don't think its going to take long to fill, so many leaves coming down already, nearly half full. I'm on a steep learning curve with the power tools - needs must!
