That makes sense to me, thnx very much, any suggestions where I can get a few of the heavier gauge plastic sacks to use for my spuds?

I would be very careful with that source of compost, it may contain toxic elements which will taint the flavour of your potatoes. Use the free compost on flowers and shrubs. Get a trade brand from your garden centre for your potatoes.
