I was wondering if anyone knows the name of this fern. This is just a small plant . It grows really big and likes to be near water. Glasgow is the ideal situation I think!!!

Thanks Seaburngirl and Scottish. Glad you agree. It was given to me by a friend, but she was unsure about its name. I collect ferns.....this is number 15.

I have spent ages looking Brian. We are thinking of going to Crarie soon. I saw it there and in Arran, but there were no labels. I will take a photo and ask the gardeners.
That is if it survives. A fox decided it looked like a good place to relieve itself. I hope it doesn't make a habit of it!!!

Linda, my local nursery has some Polypodium - no mention of which you are looking for.
Binny Plants, Uphall. They have a website.

Sorry about that Linda....I didn't think to click on the plants to check.
That is a pity cos it's a great place to buy plants! I'll bring it to his attention next time I'm in. Although I promised him yesterday I wouldn't be back until spring!!!!

Cyrtomium falcatum or fortuneii I think.
I have both and they both start off looking like this and make plants 2ft or more in size.
