my broadbean are showing new stem and flowers.will i get a second crop

I don't think so, Appleblossom, because I cut mine down when the first lot of beans had been picked, just to see what would happen, and they mostly sent up new shoots and flowers, but they didn't come to anything. Mind you, we're in Cumbria, so you may do better where you are.
Did you know that you should leave the roots and a little bit of stalk in the ground so that the nitrogen in the root nodules goes into the soil to feed it for next year?

Highly unlikely we cut our broad beans back today after a final harvest and I noticed some new shoots with flowers - doubt that they will set beans and if they do late in the season for them to grown and ripen.

yes you may well do. they may not be as big but they taste just as good.
