If it's for a charity or community garden you may be able to source recycled paint via your local council's recycling bank or depot. Why not try contacting the recycling dept & see what they say?

Are you looking for exterior woodstain and preservative, or wanting to actually paint the fence? Because if you want to paint it, any exterior gloss paint will do - if you want a particular colour, just use one of those places which mixes colours for you. That way, you can have any colour you like, except you'd have to pay for it. I think even B & Q has a paint mixing machine, doesn't it?

If B&Q directed you to a nursery then I suspect that you are asking for a timber preservative rather than a paint. As far as I know these just come in shades of green and brown, nothing bright.
If you are indeed proposing to use paint then gloss from B&Q should suffice but you will have to spend a lot of time preparing and priming the timber so that the paint does not flake off in a short space of time.

I need to correct the above response immediatly. I have just done a quick web search and found Protek wood preservatives. Look at the following web page:
http://www.shedstore.co.uk/garden-wood-preservatives
Shedstore will sell it to you for £17.95 per litre or, if you wish, you can have five litres for £20.95! The web colour chart shows some evry bright colours.

you could get a big tub of cheap white waterproof paint and then buy the primery colours in tester sizes then you can actualy make every possible colour there is . also you can get a paint mixer for a drill in said b and q . my latvian nieghbers have done it with just emulsion i do believe . i would however weight for the summer when you have more chance of continual dry weather . i know ive used white emulsion on my concrete seat with sand mixed in it and it was fine .

I suspect that, if B&Q said no, you're asking for a freebie as I bought my bright blue wood preservative there.

Hello Pipers...welcome to GoY. I am interested about your sensory garden.. ..
I think B&Q have said they will not donate paint or plants to you...
What do you need.
