I am interested in growing gladioli next year.
When do garden centres strat stocking the corns, as I think I saw them on sale last year around this time?

I don't think they'll be on sale until the spring - say March at the earliest in the south and April/ May in the north.

Croms might be available soon - I just took all the non hardy Gladioli up from my garden yesterday to cure. I would not plant them until Apr/May.
They need moist but free draining soil. I had some in a dry area and the difference between corms now is startling - at least 3-4 times size as corms in moist soil have taken up loads of water and have loads of bulblets.

O.K, thank you.

Bit early still ... suggested planting is early spring. Difficult to predict the weather with frozen ground and so on ... in the south corns should be available between now and April, in the north maybe not until February?
