WE SEEM TO HAVE BEEN TAKEN OVER BY LADYBIRDS! THEY LIVE IN CLUMPS AROUND WINDOWS. HOW CAN WE STOP THEM? WE KNOW THEY ARE GOOD FOR THE GARDEN, BUT THEY ARE TAKING OVER THE BATHROOM!!

They are hibernating. Take a look at web sites about them and how you can make places for them to overwinter which won't cost you any money.

Mmmmm! Noticed a few on my window sill's but I think there dead, wonder if they are dead or just look as if they are ??????
I was going to shread some branches that still had leaves on the other day and noticed a load of ladybirds on them so stacked em in a corner till next year, must try and make a little home for them as the ones in the shop's are a bit expensive for me.

Just found a website to build ladybird houses called downsizer.net. You can take a small bundle of 8-10 hollow stems (they suggest allium stems), slide them into an old clear plastic drinks bottle (which you have cut to about 5 ins long open both ends and hang up in the garden or balcony, near a fence or wall and hey presto - a nice little winter home.

I will never forget, 2 years ago at my grandmothers, what i can only describe as a 'swarm' of ladybirds, flew in and all landed on the house. I am talking literally, thousands of them. It was unbelievable
Is this normal behaviour for ladybirds? Do they live in groups like ants and wasps?
