My Brunnera Jack Fost is showing no sign of life above ground at the moment. I hope the root is still there! All being well would it be OK to dig it up and divide now? I thought I could pot up the divisions and place in the greenhouse until growth shows. Any help would be appreciated.

I forgot to say - this plant should be divided in autumn, not spring.

I have split them before when the first shoots are just showing. But better success in the late summer early autumn.

I divided a very large plant in September. I potted up around 8 pots. So far 3 are showing signs of new growth just coming to the surface and the other 5 nothing. I have divided before in spring and found it worked ok - but did wait until there was signs of growth.
TT are you looking for some?

Hi Scottish ...
Yes. I would love some Jack Frost.
Last year Gee was hoping to kindly send me some, but her plant was not large enough to split. Hence her question ! ;o)

Thanks everyone for your help. I will still try and divide my plant up at the right time, TT, but it seems as if Scottish's kind offer will be quicker than mine :) I am extending my flower beds (and getting rid of some grass) so I am dividing everything I can!

Good luck with your flower beds.

I can send you some when it's ready TT. You are on the list with Sticki and Pixi. I will PM you when I feel they are healthy enough to pop in the post.
