We have been given a beautiful Magnolia Soulangiana as a gift. The thing is our garden is relatively small and walled, in the summer months, one side is shady and cool, the other hot and dry. Where to place the Magnolia is a problem as neither sites would seem to suit it. The only other thing would be to plant it for now in a very large tub. Does anyone have any suggestions please?

Thanks Bamboo......we shall have to make room for it then, and reshape the right side of the garden, now that is giving me some ideas already....:))).

Nothing like a new plant to trigger off a revamp!

Not a good subject for a pot, it dislikes root disturbance, and you'd inevitably need to repot as time goes by. If there's room, plant it on the shady, cooler side.
