I was doing a bit of work today, in the garden, repotting and the likes....One pot i came across, i didnt know what was in in it...no sign of growth, so i tipped it out and found these two massive tubers...I have no recollection of planting them...Anybody got any ideas please?....

Could they be dahlias ?

No idea, but they don't look like any Dahlia Tubers I've had.
Why don't you repot and wait and see what comes up?

Thanks for comment Cammomile....Krisy, these were in the pot, must be there from last year, but i cant remember, was just a black plastic pot like lots of others i own....Dont think they're dahlias Hywel...I would be very familiar with dahlia tubers...they were in the same pot, but separate...Thats what i will have to do Andip, there are a lot of nobbly bits all over the tubers, like 'eyes'....thanks all...:>)

Peony?

Do you think so Dorjac?....My sister-in-law did give me a clump of Peony last year and i put it in a couple of different places....Perhaps....thank you...:>)

I saw the reddish colour under the darkish crust. I planted some peony root a while back that I got in a box from Homebase and they had a reddish tinge to them. I was dismayed when I saw them but they have shoots about 3-4 inches and seem to be doing OK. I put them in just under the surface.

Thats what i did with these today...If they are Paeony, i had them much too deep in the pot...Thank you so much Dorjac...clever you ..:>)

They look scary to me, like something from a horror movie.
Lets hope they grow into a plant and not a monster.
